James M. Caughman Jr.


James Michael Caughman Jr. 35, fiancee of Christie Cartee Castellaw, of Mora St., Greenville, formerly of Eljema Forest Drive, Piedmont, died Saturday, May 18, 2002.

Born in Greenwood, he was a son of Mike and Gloria Caughman of Piedmont. He was a graduate of Mauldin High School and a designer with Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr and Huber in Michigan. He formerly worked with Greenville County and was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. He organized the Mauldin Maulers Wheelchair Softball Team and was a member of Augusta Road United Methodist Church.

Surviving in addition to his parents and fiancee are a son, Michael Gregory Caughman of Michigan; a sister, Shannon Caughman of the home; a brother and sister-in-law, Christopher and Karen Caughman of Taylors; and grandmothers, Ruby O. Caughman and Jimmie H. Burton, both of Ware Shoals. He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Bill Caughman and Carlton Burton.

Memorials may be made to the Augusta Road United Methodist Church Building Fund, Attention: Peggy Young, 506 Mellowood Drive, Piedmont, S.C. 29673.

Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown Chapel, with interment in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
